Sample Projects

Broadband Cable Monitoring Product

We led the development of Omni 2000. Omni 2000 is a complete redesign and rewrite of a cable monitoring system written in Visual Basic and C++ with a Microsoft SQL Server database. Omni 2000 is over 1 million lines of code. The product has been released and has been purchased and used by customer for over 3 years.

• Managed and revised process for a 40 person offshore development team through 3 product releases.
• We designed the high-level system architecture and COM/DCOM sub-system interfaces.
• We designed and created the database schema, stored procedures and triggers for Microsoft SQL Server.
• We designed and built a prototype GUI, test harness, and database utility in Visual Basic.
• We designed and developed a multi-threaded COM Server in ATL with C++.

Ticket Tracking Product

We led the design and development of a web-based ticket tracking system for use in the semiconductor fabrication industry. The system is built from Oracle, Apache, JSP pages, and Java beans.

• We managed a 5 person offshore team working on other parts of the system.
• We created reusable code used to implement add/edit/delete screens for over 30 lookup tables.
• We designed, coded, and tested 15 web pages in JSP/HTML/JavaScript and roughly 60 supporting Java classes.

Business-To-Business Product

We defined, designed and developed a product to implement UCCnet system, a XML-based interface for retailers and their vendors. We used Scrum as a software development methodology. The product has been successfully released and is being utilized by many customers.

• We rapidly developed a prototype for use at a trade show.
• We worked with the client's customers to help define and refine requirements.
• We created a platform architecture that made it easy to handle changing requirements and a database schema of over 200 tables.
• We designed, coded, and tested 30 screens in Java and Swing.
